Digital Edge has moved infrastructure that supports its public and private cloud offerigs to a Dallas data center operated by Telx, one of the biggest colocation companies in the US. Telx announced the launch of Digital Edge's cloud out of Dallas Thursday.

Under the agreement, Digital Edge will offer their managed services for customized cloud and hosting platforms to leverage Telx's networks and interconnection services for both new and existing clients.

The DAL1 data center is located at 2323 Bryan St. in downtown Dallas, a major carrier hotel with more than 100 network services and solution providers' infrastructure. Digital Edge's service will also be available at Telx's DAL2 data center, located at the First American Center in Dallas, through Telx's Metro Connect services.

Michael Petrov, Digital Edge co-founder and CEO, said Telx's data center infrastructure was a natural fit for the company's expansion plans. “Incorporating our services within Telx's DAL1 space provide a systematic approach to virtualization that ensures excellent ROI and a structured knowledge transfer to Telx's clients as well as our own,” he said.

Digital Edge will operate out of DAL1 with its own managed-hosting platform. It will also supply on-site engineering staff for building, maintaining and managing their client's environments within the DAL1 facility.

John Freimuth, said the deal with Digital Edge was an example of Telx's role as a cloud enabler. “We continue to see demand for increased data center space from multifaceted cloud service providers in Dallas and throughout the country,” he said.
