Datacenter Dynamics Converged Chicago examines the unique opportunities that the Midwest region offers, and provides you with the tools and strategies to succeed in a world-class data center market.
Chicago deserves its reputation as a major player in the data center industry, given the maturity of the region’s market and its robust fiber optic capacity. The Midwest is poised for a resurgence of data center growth, as operators and enterprise customers look for safer alternatives to the coasts for their backup facilities in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
The region is uniquely positioned to capture the new business for a number of reasons. For the financial services industry, Chicago has the best trading, clearing, and telecommunications infrastructure outside of New York City. A business-friendly approach to incentives, its central location, relatively low cost of power, and a higher use of renewable energy resources as compared with other regions in the U.S. makes the region a sound choice. But despite challenges such as a climate with broad swings in temperature, an abundance of older facilities, and the occasional hurricane, the region’s positives outweigh the negatives.
We’re delighted to be back in Chicago again this year. We’re planning two halls featuring sessions on such key topics as developing an effective disaster recovery plan, the latest green technology innovations, new metrics and benchmarking, predictive DCIM, effective cloud implementation, the pros and cons of modular data centers, adopting an effective virtualization strategy, and everything you need to know about software defined networking. We’ll feature great keynote speakers, dynamic panel discussions, and in-depth case studies showcasing end users who will share important lessons from their experiences. DCD Converged Chicago is THE data center industry event that you can’t afford to miss. We look forward to seeing you in Chicago.
