Latisys to expand a southern-California data center

Latisys has commenced construction on an additional 12,000sq ft of raised floor and an additional 1.8MW of power in its Irvine, California, data center.

 

The data center currently has 20MW of power capacity across 93,000sq ft of data center space. Latisys has another data center in the area, which has 50,000sq ft of data center space, which it has recently purchased from its former landlord.

 

Latisys plans to complete construction and make the new space available to customers by the end of the second quarter, 2013.

 

“Southern California continues to grow as a destination of choice for outsourced IT infrastructure services and as a gateway to Asia Pacific,” said Tom Panarisi, regional sales director at Latisys.

 

The project is a continuation of the company's national expansion program that started in 2012. Recent announcements include DEN2—Latisys’ data center in Denver— along with the DC5 and CHI2 data centers that added an additional 22,000sq ft and 10,000sq ft of raised floor in northern Virginia and Chicago respectively.

 

Latisys now operates more than 343,000sq ft across seven data centers in four major US markets.
