Virtus Data Centres Ltd today announced it has formed a partnership with C5 Alliance, a Guernsey-based technology and business solution provider.

The move is designed to let Channel Island businesses host data wholly or partly in the UK while benefitting from on-island solutions. Virtus customers will also have access to offshore hosting through C5 Alliance’s data centers. Any migration of legacy data to either location will be closely monitored.

It’s all about business flexibility

Marc Lainé, Managing Director, C5 Alliance, views the agreement as a way to offer businesses greater flexibility when deciding how to manage their data: “We wanted to be in a position to address off-island hosting needs for clients and looked at a number of providers.”

“The partnership will allow both Virtus and C5 to expand their networks through cross-referrals and share ideas and information with a business that isn’t a direct competitor,” said Lainé.

“We hope to continue to increase our offering to Channel Islands businesses through partnerships with other providers across the globe. We are pleased that we have been able to begin this process with such an outstanding provider in the centre of the UK’s primary business and digital hub.”
