Carpathia Hosting, a leading provider of managed hosting services for enterprises and government agencies that require 100% availability, has announced the addition of over 20,000 square feet of raised floor, Tier III datacenter space at their Blue Ridge Datacenter. The new datacenter combines some of the most cost-effective datacenter space in the Washington, D.C. region with industry-leading managed hosting and disaster recovery services.
The Blue Ridge Datacenter features tremendous power advantages over other regional datacenters with two 20-megawatt electrical substations on site that provide unparalleled flexibility and scale. Carpathia Hosting will offer power configurations for both high and low density hosting solutions with the ability to scale to meet ongoing energy demands. The uniqueness of having two electrical substations on site will allow Carpathia to deliver enterprises and federal agencies tremendous flexibility and assurance to meet the most stringent hosting requirements.
Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the Blue Ridge Datacenter was built just 100 miles from Washington, D.C. and is outside the 50-mile blast zone and over 50 miles from the nearest nuclear power plant. With a focus on delivering the highest quality and most secure managed hosting services in the industry, Carpathia Hosting holds a number of key certifications, including Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) and SAS70 certification. Carpathia is able to meet even the strictest federal and enterprise datacenter site requirements.
The Blue Ridge Datacenter was designed in partnership with DBT Development Group, Total Site Solutions and Carpathia Hosting and was created to meet or exceed the Uptime Institute's Tier III Datacenter classifications. "Rising utility rates and limited availability of power drove us to partner with DBT and Total Site Solutions to develop a datacenter option that gives our customers an extremely competitive price point for their complex hosting requirements, explained Brent Bensten, Senior Director of Operations at Carpathia Hosting. "At the same time, we have delivered a facility that meets the strict datacenter standards government agencies and enterprises require including secure managed hosting and disaster recovery services.
The Blue Ridge Datacenter is designed to address a variety of enterprise and federal hosting needs, as well as the needs of large system integrators. Carpathia Hosting's Integrator One program, announced earlier this spring, provides system integrators with a broad range of datacenter design, management and support services in their drive to meet customer requirements, on time and within budget.
The announcement of the new Blue Ridge Datacenter continues a period of growth and expansion for Virginia-based Carpathia Hosting, who continues to expand its federal and enterprise clientele in the Washington, D.C. and Phoenix, Arizona metro areas by providing highly secure and flexible managed hosting services while maintaining aggressive plans aimed at delivering the most cost effective solutions.
