TelecityGroup has chosen Brand-Rex as the supplier for its high-speed copper and fiber infrastructure for its new Condorcet data center in Paris, which is seen as a show-case site for energy efficiency.

The Condorcet data center will be at the center of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research into how species around the world will react to climate change in 50 years time.

It includes a Climate Change Arboretum ÔÇô a giant greenhouse ÔÇô that is heated using the waste energy from the data center.

The data center further promotes energy efficiency by incorporating a white roof which can mitigate solar gain as well as free cooling for reduced energy consumption ÔÇô it is expected the data center will realise an annual reduction of 28 million kWh each year.

Brand-Rex will provide low smoke and halogen 10Gb zone copper cabling with a diameter of 5.4mm for the horizontal cable runs from the communications rooms above the customer racks. The design means that floor space can be kept clear of cables, improving air flow and offering extra security.

Condorcet is also signing Brand-Rex's V12 angled panel for cable routing and the RJ45 jack for installation.
