DCD are delighted to announce that the Cloud Journey of the Year awards category has been very well received by the public, with a high number of entries being sent in.

Cloud computing in all of its forms touches nearly every IT delivery model; whether public, private or hybrid. The technology ecosystem is evolving quickly, and continues to present data center end-users and operators with radically new ways of scaling their operations.

The award is sponsored by Anixter, a leading distributor of network and security solutions, cabling, and power equipment.

This year’s DCD Awards Cloud Journey of the Year category will be judged by a panel of experts including:

  • Charles Hoop, IT Sourcing and Procurement lead at Accenture;
  • Winston Carrera, chief technologist for Future Networks and CIO for Global Services at BT Services;
  • Gunnar Menzel, vice president and chief architect for Cloud Infrastructure at Capgemini;
  • Andrew Flint, lead for Technical Services at Anixter.

Recognising innovation in cloud adoption

”This award will be presented to the organization that demonstrates an innovative and pioneering approach to cloud adoption, especially when migrating from the traditional data center environment, and one that best matches business objectives to corporate requirements in terms of risk, availability and security,” said George Rockett, CEO of DCD.

A spokesperson for last year’s winner, SDL, added: “I’m honoured and proud for this recognition by my industry peers. Our Cloud Journey for SDL Machine Translation was one of the biggest 2014/2015 projects and the team did an amazing job.”
