Nirvanix has doubled the capacity of its enterprise storage cloud in the Dallas metro by taking space at a CyrusOne data center in the area.

While Nirvanix is a CyrusOne customer, the companies will share the responsibility for marketing and selling the service, a Nirvanix spokesperson wrote in an email. Nirvanix did not wish to say how revenue from the partnership would be shared.

Of special value to Nirvanix is the internet exchange Cincinnati Bell-owned CyrusOne is building across the State of Texas.

“CyrusOne is unique in that they are forming the first statewide internet exchange connecting multiple data centers to each other and enabling each to cross connect to the Nirvanix cloud with no additional bandwidth costs,” the spokesperson wrote.

The exchange will link CyrusOne’s Dallas, Houston and San Antonio data centers. It will be integrated with Nirvanix’s cloud storage service for data archiving, backup and content collaboration for the two companies’ customers.

Nirvanix became the first customer to use the Sky for the Cloud platform CyrusOne launched publicly today.

The offering includes customized data halls designed for maximum energy efficiency and featuring interconnection with other tenants, such as content providers, networks, carriers, internet service providers and Ethernet services buyers and sellers.
