Net Access has completed an expansion of its Parsippany II data center in northern New Jersey, approximately 30 miles from Manhattan. The provider of colocation and cloud services added 70,000 sq ft of data center space to the site, which now occupies a total of 120,000 sq ft.

Parsippany II was expanded to meet increasing demand for colocation and managed hosting services, according to Net Access. The company said the larger facility will allow it to offer customers more diverse IT solutions, including high-density colocation, cloud options, and managed services.

Raul Martynek, CEO of Net Access, confirmed the strategy in a statement: “This expansion allows us to increase the breadth and scope of the enterprise-class data center services that we offer, and continue to be innovative in our design of hybrid IT solutions going forward.”

The expanded data center provides high-density cabinets up to 20kW, a choice between metered or fixed-rate power billing, redundant power systems, and direct access to FLEXServices – Net Access’ platform of managed data center services that include backup, hosting, security, storage, and servers.

The carrier-neutral facility has dual cable entrances and dark fiber connections to three of the region’s major carrier hotels. Parsippany II is also served by eight network carriers.

“The New York Metro data center market continues to experience healthy demand for colocation services, with an increasing number of companies looking for more robust service alternatives outside of Manhattan,” stated Philbert Shih, managing director of Structure Research, an industry analyst firm.

“Quality inventory coming online in New Jersey is positioned to capture that demand from a number of enterprise verticals that will be looking not just for capacity but scalable capacity with the requisite power availability and density,” he added.

Headquartered in nearby Cedar Knolls, Net Access’ Parsippany II is one of three data centers the company operates – each located in its home state of New Jersey. All three facilities (Cedar Knolls, Parsippany I and Parsippany 2) are third-party certified to meet compliance standards for SOC 1&2, SSAE 16, HIPPA, PCI, and the US-EU Safe Harbor Framework.
