Data center provider Telx has become the first customer to deploy Aperture’s latest iteration of its data center configuration management software Vista 600. The solution provides single-source visibility into IT equipment, space, power, cooling capacity and connectivity in a mission-critical facility.
Telx will deploy the solution across its 15 data centers in North America, according to an Aperture statement. The software vendor is owned by Emerson Network Power, which has recently combined it with Avocent, another company it owns, to create a single infrastructure management division.
By deploying Vista 600, Telx is aiming to avoid over-provisioning of resources and to be able to make better infrastructure management decisions.
“Aperture configuration management is a powerful software tool that will help us provide real-time information and analysis our customers need to better optimize efficiency, plan and manage capacities and improve network availability,” Telx CEO Eric Shepcaro said in a statement. “This solution will give our customers a competitive edge, as they expand their data centers in 2010.”
Emerson bought Aperture in February of 2008 and Avocent was acquired in December of 2009.
