Viridity hires enterprise security business veteran as new president and CEO
Steinkrauss to lead developer of power management software for data centers
(6/14/2010)
Viridity Software, provider of data center power management solutions, has appointed Robert Steinkrauss as president and CEO. Streinkrauss comes to Viridity from Chosen Security, where as president and CEO he merged Chosen with PGP Corp., which was acquired by the large security-solutions vendor Symantec in April.
Burlington, Mass.-based Viridity’s core product is EnergyCenter, a data center energy monitoring, measurement and management software.
“Viridity Software presents an extraordinary opportunity to join a company with a foundation of strength in a nascent market on the verge of rapid growth,” Steinkrauss said in a statement. “Now, more than ever, data center professionals cite power and energy management as their number-one operational issue.”
The new CEO’s other past leadership roles included that of president and CEO of Ingrian Networks, an enterprise data protection and privacy solutions provider, now owned by SafeNet. He has held the same role at Xedia Corp., the WAN router maker that was acquired by Lucent for $246m in 1999 under Steinkrauss’s leadership.
